Engineering Happiness

4 November 2013

I’ve just decided to change my title from Web Engineer to Happiness Engineer. We’re not big on formalities here, so I don’t think my boss will mind that I changed my title in my email signature.

Why the change? I’ve long been interested in the topic of happiness, especially when it comes to being happy with your job. It almost seems a given in our culture that most people dislike their job, but my view is that those people aren’t trying hard enough to create a truly fulfilling job for themselves.

It gives me great pleasure to not only be able to create my dream job here at Exygy, but to also help others achieve their goals, whether it’s my colleagues, our clients, or someone who reads this article.

If you’re not happy with your job, I urge you to spend some time figuring out a) whether you need to find a new job OR b) how to make your current job more enjoyable.
